I would say arch/cav are better cuz they are fast and arch attack faster than cats if they are both in range

You couldnt be anymore wrong in this statement heon

1. Archers will ONLY attack first if they have more speed than the opponent (100 + 45 + lvl 10 marching tech)
2. If both opponents have the same speed. Then the defender will always have the first strike.
For example, a 5k cat army vs a 5k cat army. When they are both in range of each other, the defender will attack first which will mean he will most likely win the fight.
3. You also need to look at other techs but the first 2 are the most detailed info you can say about this subject. All other info given will be a "depending on tech" info. Such as shooting, defense, and attack techs/ treasures.

You couldnt be anymore wrong in this statement heonwhat you are saying is true, however, you failed to mention two facts:
1. Archers will ONLY attack first if they have more speed than the opponent (100 + 45 + lvl 10 marching tech)
2. If both opponents have the same speed. Then the defender will always have the first strike.

point 1 n 2 are false..... arch will most likely lways attack before cats (well if u got 0 speed and enemy max speed he will have higher speed, so if your speed is higher than 10 arch always attack first.....
to point 2: its not depending on attribute.... its depending on troops speed

Not always true. Unit speed comes into play before home field advantage does.
I prefer cav/archer myself.

Re: cav/arch army as opposed to cats/inf or cats/cav
For an ideal cav/archer army, you would want around 30k-50k cav and around 100k archers as long as you can maintain it. 100k archers with high attack can "1 shot" 10k cats as long as in range.

Re: cav/arch army as opposed to cats/inf or cats/cav
It appears that there is some confusion as to how the speed and "who goes first" actually works.
All 8 armies (4 types of 2 players) are listed in order of speed, highest speed goes first, ties goes to the defender. If all tech and other variables are equal it will go like this:
1 - Cavs with highest speed (defender)
2 - Cavs with lower speed (attacker)
3 - Infantry (defender)
4 - Infantry (attacker)
5 - Archers (defender)
6 - Archers (attacker)
7 - Cats (defender)
8 - Cats (attacker)
Now if one player has much greater speed than the other, things obviously change. I've had my archers attack before an opponent's infantry because of my max speed. Check your war reports and you'll see that it's not a case where the team with highest speed has all their armies go first, rather the armies are individually ranked by speed. Thus archers almost always go before cats.
A cav/archer army can be very strong but you have to know how to use it, there is more skill required than a cat heavy army. I really like at least a small cav/archer army for taking oases, half the losses than cav only and without commanding you win in 2 turns with max speed and range.

Re: cav/arch army as opposed to cats/inf or cats/cav
Not necessarily, a general with more speed against a general with less speed can make a cat faster than arch and inf, although either way cav are fastest
Re: cav/arch army as opposed to cats/inf or cats/cav
cats can never be faster than inf...
Re: cav/arch army as opposed to cats/inf or cats/cav
wats with the sudden intrest of cav/arxher armies?
