Re: Is this really offensive?

Because if his name is really a bad word, I wouldn't think anyone in our alliance would hesistate and say anything about it. This case is more of an expert making a big deal of something that is really minor. It isn't even the full abbreviation of the bad word. It is more of how some people interpret it.

So if someone is called A.H., would he not be allowed it because someone think it is offensive? There got to be a line drawn somewhere.

You know that in Asia, FU is a slang for just the environment or atmosphere with nothing bad about it. People who want to think it is bad, will make it bad. That's how it goes.

So if A.H. goes and beat someone in battle, someone can just go and complain to support and saying his name is bad and for him to change it?

Re: Is this really offensive?

In my honest opinion I do believe that his name should be changed. Yes, it is an abbreviated term but there will always be debate and arguing over it as it is offensive to many.

This is not an expert or support abusing their authority in anyway. This is their jobs and they're doing it right. If it is a questionable/offensive name it's his job to report it.

The point is there is no need to drag this on. It's an offensive name to the vast majority and he has the option of changing his name to something better.

Re: Is this really offensive?

Who's the vast majority. Really? As I said, no one complained before until now. When will the line be drawn.

This has to be discussed, what is OK and what is not? IF people spend time building up their character in the game, should they have to change because a few people complain?

Re: Is this really offensive?

I seriously doubt your statement of no one has complained and even if no complained doesnot mean it is proper and the reason why expert and support are here is to keep the game clean.

To my knowledge anyone who has little common sense will find this name improper and rule enforcement should not be negotiable. Improper words should be reduced to an absoulte minimum.

Re: Is this really offensive?

What is considered OK or not OK? Or is when an expert has a grudge?

What if he is called F.K.? Would that be better? F.Y.? Really... maybe F.x should be eliminated because someone cound find it offensive.

After he spends a lot of money into the game (go check), you now go and tell him that is name is not acceptable after he branded himself in the game for months. It like someone telling FCUK it isn't acceptable after they have been around for a while. THAT is the issue we have. Heck, if his name was FCUK, wouldn't think it is unfair at all.

Re: Is this really offensive?

Japanese has name of FUrama, Chinese has surname of Fu. So is support trying to tell that they have discrimination against Chinese and Japanese?

Re: Is this really offensive?

This is an English game and don't use other language as an excuse to defend a real improper name and point has been made. We really don't think it is worthwhile to further discuss the matter.

Before it turns to a bashing towards anyone this thread should be locked.
