Promoting War

I am interested if anyone has ideas to encourage more fighting between players.

It often seems as though everyone is so afraid of losing their army or prestige that they will only go after smaller armies that are left out. As said numerous times before, this game is more about scouting than actually challenging another player. So does anyone have ideas on what Haypi could do in order to make you send your armies out more?

I personally, would do away with the hunt system as there are usually no armies to fight. Sometimes you will find one that was accidently left out (made that mistake the other day), however big hits are fairly rare.

I would also get rid of losing prestige for losing battles. You would need to raise the experience required for each level of course. Losing an army is much less disheartening than the tons of prestige associated with it. I would be willing to send my army out much more freely if I knew I wasn't going to lose prestige, only the troops. Another option would to be award players prestige based on the number of troops they've killed. If I kill 95% of the enemy army and lose, I still put up a good fight and should get something.

So again I purpose, what would make you send out your troops more?

Re: Promoting War

This topic is more for people to say what would make them fight...not to comment on my suggestions.

In pvp I have been stealing oasis' like there is no tomorrow and not a single person has attacked me. They'll take the oasis back, however an actual attack hasn't happened. In fact, even in pvp there are very very few battles. I've been attacked only twice since the start of the competition.

In the regular game, pre-server merge I went months without an attack on any one of my cities. Since the merge I was attacked twice and wood is sitting at .01 (which shows a lack of activity).

I would say the main problem with the war system is the hunt system. Every person knows to immediately hunt their army which leaves no one to fight.

Even with the new chest...there still needs to be an army sitting out there to fight.

Re: Promoting War

another idea with the increased emphasis on coins. award them when battle prestige gained reaches milestones e.g 10 free coins for 100k pres won etc

I would actually do away with the hunt system all together. The problem lies in the fact that players immediately hunt their troops when they are not doing anything. Sometimes you will get lucky and find an army left out or abandoned, but for the most part everyone is in hunt.

I would do the exact opposite of what the hunt system is today, that being keeping troops in the city as long as possible. The larger your army and longer you can keep them there, the better the rewards. Granted Haypi would need to re-work the battle system to prevent high-level players from decimating everyone.

I'm sure this would garner a huge amount of complaints, however we still have a war game without war.

Also, prestige lose is a huge problem...just look at pvp. There are tons of people who quit mid pvp because they lost their army and most of their prestige. If you don't believe me, just scout the surrounding area in pvp and look at all the players who at the base prestige for their level (i.e. 630, 2000, 6300, etc)

Re: Promoting War

its true no one leaves there army out anymore and if they do they always learn so none are ever last out, there has to be benefits for the winner and the loser for people to take the riskof battling another player.

my suggestion is that you are unable to lose prestige. ie player 1 wins a battle so player 1 gains the prestige. but instead of losing pp player 2 just loses his army and has to rebuild, this way both sides have more incentive to fight
